First lady Remi Tinubu has expressed excitement over the safe return of the Al-Kadriyah sisters.
Five of the six sisters, who were kidnapped in the Bwari area of Abuja on January 2, regained their freedom in the early hours of Sunday, January 21.
Mrs Tinubu, who earlier called on security operatives to rescue the girls, stressed via X on Monday that “prayer works” and that Nigerians should intensify their prayers for an end to insecurity.
“I rejoice with the Al-Kadriyar family, friends and Nigerians in general for the safe return of the Al-Kadriyar sisters,” she wrote.
“Prayer Works and I want to thank all Nigerians, especially mothers for praying for the safe return of the Al-kadriyar sisters. Let us however not relent in our prayers.
“Let us intensify our prayers as it is prayers that would bring us out of this conundrum we find ourselves as a nation. I commend our security agencies for their efforts and urge them not to relent in combating insecurity in our Nation.”

Isa Pantami’s friend offers to pay N50m ransom to free Nabeeha’s sisters
The sisters were taken captive alongside their father and some residents of the community. However, their father was released and asked to get N60 million as ransom.
Following the failure to raise the money, the eldest of the children Nabeeha, a 400-level biological science student at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), was killed by the kidnappers and the ransom increased to N100 million.
Spokesperson of the FCT Police Command Josephine Adeh said the sisters and other victims were rescued by security operatives from Kajuru Forest in Kaduna State.
The police did not speak on the ransom, however, Daily Trust learnt N100 million was paid to free the victims.
