Former governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Lagos State Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has reacted to the allegation made against his wife Ifeyinwa Rhodes-Vivour (née Aniebo).
On Monday, Mrs Rhodes-Vivour’s former employee Chika Jones accused her of owing him £778 when he worked with her in 2019 on her project called Afroscientric.
Jones said he tried to reach out to Mr Rhodes-Vivour for intervention but got no response.
He also said he did not bring the issue up in the build-up to the 2023 elections because he did not want it to be politicised.
Reacting to the allegation on X on Tuesday, Rhodes-Vivour wrote that he had spoken with Jones and the former employee had been paid his money.

“I have spoken to Chika and extended an olive branch in acknowledgement of an episode that I hope we can put behind us and look to better days ahead,” the politician wrote.
“I believe this episode to have been an exception, rather than the norm, at least considering the context.
“The situation has been rectified and his due paid. I also want to express my gratitude to everyone who offered their support in de-escalating this situation. I thank Chika for his understanding and willingness to move forward and also thank him for his support during the campaigns.”
