Guinness Nigeria Plc has announced the resignation of Tariye Gbadegesin from its board of directors, effective from February 24, 2024.
The company’s legal director/company secretary Abidemi Ademola announced this in a statement posted on the Nigerian Exchange Limited website.
“This is to inform the NGX, the investing public and other stakeholders, of the resignation of Gbadegesin from the Board of Guinness Nigeria Plc with effect from February 24, 2024,” the statement said.

Gbadegesin’s resignation followed the terms of her recent appointment as the chief executive officer of the Climate Investment Funds. She is the first African to hold the position.
Gbadegesin joined Guinness Nigeria board on July 27, 2022. Throughout her tenure, she served as a member of the statutory audit committee of the board, boasting more than 20 years of experience in finance, principal investments, and infrastructure.
“The Board hugely appreciates Gbadegesin for her commitment, innovative and strategic contribution to the company as a valued independent non-executive director. The Board wishes Gbadegesin success in her new endeavors,” Ademola said.
