Lead pastor of The Fountain of Life Church in Lagos Jimmy Odukoya has expressed appreciation to sports journalist Aisha Folade for informing the Super Eagles of the prayers of Nigerians for their success at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Super Eagles take on Angola on Friday for a place at the tournament’s semi-finals.
Odukoya has been leading his congregation in prayers for the team both offline and online.
On Thursday, he shared on Instagram a video of Falode, president of Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), addressing the Eagles ahead of Friday’s quarter-final match.
Falode said, “You must have seen the trending videos of churches that were praying for you on Sunday. There’s this young pastor, they call him Pastor Jimmy from the Fountain of Life Church. He raised a prayer point for you on Sunday in church.”
Reacting to this, Odukoya wrote, “People of God our prayers have reached The Super Eagles camp against their game tomorrow!!! Thank you Madam Aisha Falode.
“We will not relent! ANGOLA WE ARE READY! Prayer video for tomorrow’s match incoming !!”
