Gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has celebrated her senior colleague Chioma Jesus whom she often referred to as her mother on the latter’s 52nd birthday.
The mother of one shared Chioma’s picture on her Instagram account on Monday night with a goodwill message.
“Happy birthday to you mummy @officialchiomajesus may God continually honour and elevate you🙏🏼🙏🏼 Your light shines brighter even more this year and Beyond. I love, honour and celebrate the amazing gift that you are,” she wrote.
Reacting in the comment section of the post, a grateful Chioma joked about wanting Mercy’s baby to sing a birthday song for her.
“Thank you my Baby girl I love you please tell Charis that he hasn’t sang birthday song for me oooooo. Tell him to call 📞 me,” she wrote.
Chioma Jesus, whose real name is Amaka Okwuoha also celebrated herself with a lovely photo she uploaded on her Instagram account.
“GUESS WHO IS +1 TODAY??? OKEMMUO’S BEAURI HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME THANK YOU LORD FOR THE GIFT OF LIFE,” she captioned the photo.
The singers have done several music collaborations and performed together on stage. Their latest duet ‘Yahweh’ was released in November 2023 after Mercy Chinwo announced the birth of her baby boy.

Chioma Jesus who shares a mother-and-daughter relationship with Mercy, joined others at the airport to welcome her colleague home after the birth of her child.
Mercy shared a video of herself, her husband, Chioma Jesus and a few friends and family members at the airport, welcoming her and her baby to Nigeria.
Chioma also visited and prayed for the newborn.
