Odema Akerele, daughter of former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Audu Ogbeh has been buried in Abuja.
Mrs Akerele died on Friday, February 9 at the age of 41.
She was buried in a private ceremony on Saturday after a requiem mass at the Church of the Assumption in Asokoro, Abuja.
A service of songs moderated by actress Chigul was held for her in Abuja on Friday.
Odema Akerele was chief operating officer of Rendeavour and Alaro City.
A message posted on Alaro City’s Instagram page described the deceased as “a caring, supportive and loyal friend who brought out the best in people and made us smile. Odema’s energy, enthusiasm and positivity made her the sunshine in our lives. She is already greatly missed.”
Akerele is survived by her husband, two daughters, parents and siblings.
A memorial website has been created in her memory.
Senate minority leader Abba Moro in a condolence message prayed for the deceased and called on Ogbeh and his family to find solace in the belief that Akerele is in a better place.
