Actress Kate Henshaw’s mother has died.
The national president of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Emeka Rollas confirmed this in an Instagram post on Saturday before announcing Mr Ibu’s death.
He wrote: “Sad Day for Actors Guild of Nigeria. Kate Henshaw lost her mother earlier today and Mr lbu suffered cardiac arrest according to his manager for 24 years Mr Don Single Nwuzor. I announce with deep sense of grief that Mr Ibu didn’t make it. May his soul rest in peace.”
Kate Henshaw hails from Cross River State.
The 52-year-old who once aspired to represent Calabar Municipal/Odukpani Federal Constituency under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said her mother was totally against the idea of her venturing into politics, and even initially refused to pray for her.
In an interview with Daily Trust, Kate Henshaw said: “My mum said ‘no way’. I told her to pray for me and she said she wasn’t going to, so I told her I’d pray for myself. Some cousins of mine in Calabar then called her and told her to encourage me, that what I want to do is good. She told them someone else should go into it, and they asked her why someone else should. They told her I should do it because it would be good for the state. She finally agreed.”
