Nollywood actors Ramsey Nouah, Victor Osuagwu, Charles Awurum and others have observed a moment of silence for their colleague the late Mr Ibu.
The trio who are currently filming in Ghana halt the production to pay their respects to Mr Ibu.
Victor Osuagwu shared a video of the crew on his Instagram account on Monday, observing a moment of silence for the actor.
Captioning the video, he wrote: “A Minute Silence For Mr.IBU. On D Set Of “The Country Called Ghana” In Kumasi, Ghana. #adiuemribu #farewell #mannamumu #ochibundu.”
Mr Ibu whose real name is John Okafor, died on Saturday at Evercare Hospital in Lagos State after a protracted battle with illness.
The 63-year-old battled health issues that led to multiple surgeries and the amputation of his leg.
According to the national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Emeka Rollas, Ibu’s manager Don Single Nwuzor told him that the actor suffered cardiac arrest before he passed on.
“Mr lbu suffered cardiac arrest according to his manager for 24 years Mr Don Single Nwuzor. I announce with deep sense of grief that Mr Ibu didn’t make it. May his soul rest in peace,” he said in an Instagram post on Saturday.
Ibu hailed Umunekwu in Nkanu West LGA, Enugu State.
