Jimoh Oriyomi, a sickle cell patient and adopted daughter of actress Sola Sobowale, has undergone successful surgery on her shoulder.
Sola shared the good news in an Instagram post on Monday in which she thanked her followers for donating money for the procedure.
The actress, however, disclosed that Jimoh was admitted because caught an infection and needed money for treatment.
She wrote: “I called for aid and you answered, God will always meet you at your point of need. Jimoh Oriyomis surgery was successful and she sent this video to thank you all.
“Bless you all. As we speak she has been admitted because of an infection and needs more aid. Please let’s continue and keep Oriyomi safe. 0177232481GTbank Jimoh Oriyomi Salimot.”
The 58-year-old first disclosed Jimoh’s health challenge in an Instagram post on February 11 in which she explained her daughter’s diagnosis.
She wrote: “Hello everyone, this is Jimoh Oriyomi one of my adopted daughters who is a sickle cell patient.
“Oriyomi has been diagnosed with Avascular necrosis (AVN) on her right hip and her right shoulder. AVN is the death of the bone tissue, and this has hindered her movements.
“The total cost of the operation for both the hip and shoulder was about 11 million Naira. We have successfully operated the hips which was over 6 million Naira and now we need your help to operate her shoulder. We are raising N4,019,543.50 for the operation.🙏🙏 Please help us help Oriyomi walk again. No amount is too small .”
