Comedian Ayo Makun, better known as AY on Tuesday, surprised his 13.2 million followers on Instagram when he shared photos of a teenager named Denzl to mark his birthday.
The boy who clocked 17 on Sunday was celebrated by the comedian who referred to the boy as his son.
He wrote: “My son is 17. May each day be a step closer to your dreams, filled with the warmth of love and the thrill of new adventures. Happy birthday, Denzel. Daddy loves you. See you soon.”
Moments after the post, the comments section was filled with questions about AY’s relationship with Denzel as many wondered when and how the comedian fathered a 17-year-old boy.
“Oga you need to explain better oo please your son from which woman? Because as far as I know it’s only Michael and Ayomide that are your kids so this son is from where? Meanwhile happy birthday son of God,” a follower named Slimkiki Udeme wrote.
“He has been with the wife over 17yrs and this isn’t her kid, so how?? Another follower named Maryann commented.
“I have no idea you have a grown child ooh,” Joy Daddy wrote.
However, contrary to what many have come to believe, the 17-year-old boy is AY’s nephew and not his biological son.
Denzel is the son of AY Makun’s sister Moranike Ebimami who had already celebrated the boy two days before AY posted his picture on Instagram.

AY got married to his wife Mabel Makun in 2008. The couple is blessed with two girls.
