Comedian Ayo Makun, better known as AY, has finally addressed rumour that he fathered a 17-year-old boy with another woman.
The father of two surprised his 13.2 million followers on Instagram on March 10 when he shared photos of a teenager named Denzl to mark his birthday.
The boy who clocked 17 was celebrated by the comedian who referred to the boy as his son.
He wrote: “My son is 17. May each day be a step closer to your dreams, filled with the warmth of love and the thrill of new adventures. Happy birthday, Denzel. Daddy loves you. See you soon.”
Soon after the post, many began criticising AY whom they accused of having a child outside wedlock.
However, during his AY Live Easter concert over the weekend, AY finally revealed that the boy is his sister’s son and not his.
The 52-year-old warned against believing everything shared on social media.
He said: “Sometimes there is always a narrative that goes on social media and people just follow it without carrying out any form of investigation. I heard a lot of people say so much things about me. ‘Oh, e don born 17 years old, useless man’ Ladies and gentlemen the boy that I posted as my son, your younger sister’s son is your son.”
AY is married to Mabel Makun and they have two children.
