Veteran storyteller Jimi Solanke will be buried on Friday, April 5, at a private cemetery, his family announced on Tuesday.
The funeral service will take place at the Methodist Church Nigeria in Ipara-Remo, Ogun State.
The funeral activities commenced with a choral concert at Ibudo Asa, Ipara Remo, on Monday, April 1, 2024, alongside events like a night of tributes at Freedom Park, Lagos, candlelight processions at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, and Ipara-Remo, Ogun State.
On Saturday, April 6, there will be cultural and masquerade displays, among other programmes.
The burial events will end on April 7, 2024, with a thanksgiving service.
Jimi Solanke died in February 2024.
The storyteller, also known as Baba Agba, was born in Ipara Remo, Ogun State.
He began his career as a pioneer member of the Orisun Theatre Group founded by playwright Wole Soyinka in 1961.
He was 81 years old.
