London to Lagos solo driver Pelumi Nubi on Tuesday met with British deputy high commissioner in Nigeria Jonny Baxter.
The meeting comes on the heels of her 68-day road trip from London to Lagos.
The UK High Commission said in an Instagram post that Mr Baxter was happy to receive Ms Nubi and her parents, describing her as a super star.
“Congratulations to @pelumi.nubi for achieving an amazing feat on the #London2Lagosbyroad, well done!” The post read.
“Of course, we couldn’t miss meeting such a superstar and newest @lagosstategovt brand ambassador!

Nubi arrived at the Nigeria-Benin Republic border on Sunday morning and was given a hero’s welcome organised by Lagos State Government. She was also hosted at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday presented her a branded car, a house and named her tourism ambassador of the state.
Nubi’s trip from the UK took her through France and Spain into Africa through Morocco.
She went across Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin, and finally to Lagos, Nigeria.
