Management of Learn Africa, the publishing firm where Ronke Shonde, the woman allegedly killed by her husband in Lagos, and a male friend, Kayode Oluokun, worked, said on Tuesday that the duo left the company in March.
Lekan (51), Shonde, accused of killing his 36-year-old wife, says the deceased was having an affair with Oluokun.
He claimed the argument they had on the day of her death started because Ronke flaunted his relationship with her ex-colleague.
A statement from Learn Africa on Tuesday said both Ronke and Oluokun left the organisation on March 8 and 10 2016 respectively.
The statement reads in part: “Late Mrs. Ronke Shonde and Mr. Kayode Oluokun were former employees of Learn Africa Plc. However, as of the time of Mrs. Shonde’s death, they had ceased to be workers of Learn Africa Plc since the 8th and 10th of March 2016, respectively.
“During the period of their employment, the management is not in a position to confirm or deny the existence of a relationship between these former employees in any other capacity other than as colleagues.”
