Former governorship candidate of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) in Rivers State Sobomabo Jackrich has been released hours after his abduction.
Gunmen took him away on Monday morning after invading his residence in the Usokun community in the Degema Local Government Area of Rivers.
Two of his aides were allegedly killed and their bodies taken away along with Jackrich.

One of Jackrich’s aides informed the news media on the condition of anonymity on Wednesday that the politician had been released.
He said Jackrich was freed on Tuesday evening and was taken to the 6 Division, Nigeria Army in Port Harcourt, also known as Bori Camp.
“Yes, he was released yesterday (Tuesday) evening. Though the military was denying involvement from our findings, he was taken to Bori Camp,” the aide said.
