Actress Shan George has knocked senior pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Paul Eneche, for the way he treated one of his members whom he accused of lying during her testimony.
The church member identified as Vera Anyim claimed to have graduated with a BSc in law and was reprimanded by the cleric who pointed out that there’s no such degree as a BSc in law, casting doubt on her testimony.
Nigerians took to social media to react, with some expressing disappointment at the cleric for embarrassing her publicly and others criticising the woman for purportedly lying on the altar.
As doubts about the woman’s graduation heightened, a Facebook post by Vera, announcing her graduation from the National Open University (NOUN) with pictures surfaced online.
Writing in an Instagram post on Monday, Shan George who sympathised with the woman, condemned Paul Eneche’s treatment of her.
She wrote: “Not believing a person is one thing. How u treat a person is another. Shalom to a beautiful lady who made an effort to better her life ❤️.#educationiskey #Shangeorge.”
NOUN held its 13th convocation on Saturday. The convocation ceremony saw 22,175 students graduate across NOUN’s 120 study centres in Nigeria.
Of the graduates, 15,768 received their undergraduate degrees, while 6,407 were awarded postgraduate certificates.
