Kessington Adebutu emerges president of Lagos chiefs

The Association of Lagos Titled Chiefs has unanimously elected Kessington Adebutu, the Asoju Oba of Lagos, as its president.

Secretary of the non-political association Olawumi Gasper, in a statement, said the decision was taken in appreciation of Adebutu’s contributions and philanthropic instincts since inception, and formation of the association, Vanguard reports on Friday.

Also, Opral Mason emerged as the vice president.

The statement further explained that the elevation and choice of the duo was sequel to the peaceful transition of the immediate past president, Iyabode Foresythe, the Iya Abiye of Lagos, which occurred in February.

In his remark, Adebutu, who founded Premier Lotto Ltd popularly called Baba Ijebu, thanked God for the privilege of being alive and available to serve.

“I accepted the elevation with pride and I promised to give my best efforts to make members proud to have selected me,” he said.
