Bella Disu, executive vice-chairman of Globacom and daughter of the company’s chairman Mike Adenuga, has revealed several things about herself as a way of celebrating her 38th birthday on Wednesday.
Mrs Disu shared a video of the interview on Instagram conducted by her friend Gbubemi Fregene, a chef, at Alliance Française de Lagos/Mike Adenuga Centre in Ikoyi, Lagos. Fregene asked Disu 38 plus questions to mark her birthday.
Captioning her post, she wrote, “38 (+more!) questions to mark my 38th birthday today!
“Thanks to my dearest friend @chef_fregz for doing this with me – we had a great time!”
In the video, Disu said, “I like puff puff. I had to control it. I used to have puff puff everyday of my life.”
She said her most relaxing day is staying on the bed till noon and checking out social media without work on her mind.
Disu also said she loves spending time with her children and having “a lazy lunch”.
Asked what motherhood has taught her, the Globacom EVC said, “The things that don’t matter to you as an adult matter to your kids.”
Some of the things she must have in her handbag are a lipstick, sanitiser, and mirror.
“I don’t enjoy working out but the benefits are immense. I love the way it makes me look and feel,” she said, revealing that she works out four times a week.
Disu said that when she visits a new place, instead of staying indoors she likes to immerse herself in the culture of the place by going sightseeing.
For her favourite meals, she chose pounded yam and egusi over amala, white rice and tasty stew over jollof rice.
Disu chose chicken over turkey, although pointed out that she intentionally goes for turkey sometimes for the health benefits.
She said she prefers gospel music and picked Nathaniel Bassey as her favourite.
“I like Nathaniel Bassey. I think he has such an anointing. His music really ministers to me,” she said.
Disu said she plays piano as her father made her and her siblings learn it in honour of his own father who played the piano.
She said the Alliance Française de Lagos/Mike Adenuga Centre is important to her because she loves theatre.
Asked how she felt when she met French President Emmanuel Macron when he came to Nigeria to commission the Mike Adenuga Centre in 2018, she said, “I was nervous. I didn’t know what to say. My French was not that great as it is now. So I was conscious to welcome him in French.”
Disu noted that her birthday wish is for her to impact as many lives as she would love to.
