President Bola Tinubu has condoled with a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Jimi Agbaje over the death of his first son, Bunmi Agbaje.
Bunmi died on Tuesday. He was said to have suffered cardiac arrest.
A statement issued on Thursday by the special adviser to the president (media and publicity) Ajuri Ngelale said the president condoled with Mr Agbaje and the entire family over the tragic loss, acknowledging that nothing can be more agonising than losing a child.
He prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and comfort for the Agbaje family.
President Tinubu assured the bereaved family of his thoughts and support in this moment of grief.
Agbaje was the PDP governorship candidate in Lagos in 2015 and 2019.
Bunmi is survived by his parents and younger siblings.
