Kano State Police Command has invited the 15th Emir of Kano Aminu Ado Bayero to a meeting for security assessment.
Deputy commissioner of police in the Department of Operations Ahmed Chuso sent the invitation dated June 11 to the Emir’s private secretary.
The invitation read, “Your letter No. HRH/ADM/06/1/217 dated 10/06/2024 on the above subject is hereby acknowledged. While the Command is looking into it, the Durbar committee is hereby requested to come forward for a joint meeting and to conduct security assessment of the situation as it is the normal practice in all the previous Sallah festivities.
“While awaiting your response, accept the assurances and esteem regards of the Commissioner of Police, please.”
This comes after the monarch asked for special security due to the forthcoming Sallah festivities.
At the moment, Kano Emirate has two Emirs as Bayero has refused to leave the seat for Muhammadu Sanusi who was reinstated by Governor Abba Yusuf.
The governor signed the new Kano Emirate Council Law passed by the state assembly, effectively quashing all the five emirates created by former governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
