Babafemi Raji, group manager of programmes and content at Brila Media Group, parent company of Brila FM, has resigned after 16 years and nine months at the radio station.
Raji shared his resignation letter dated May 27, 2024, on Instagram on Thursday.
His resignation takes effect from June 27.
Raji stated in the letter that “after careful consideration, I have decided to pursue a new opportunity that aligns more closely with my long-term career goals. This was not an easy decision to make, but I believe it is the right step for me at this point in my career.”
He said he was willing to assist with training his replacement and completing outstanding projects.
The caption for his post read, “It has been 16 years and 9 months at Brila FM…Rising through the ranks to head the most important department, the programmes department as Group Manager was no small feat…however, I wanna keep rising because yeast full my body…hence my decision to move on with the abundant grace bestowed upon me by God. On to the next chapter.”
In 2020, Raji was appointed media officer of the Super Eagles, taking over from Toyin Ibitoye who was on the job for over five years.
Raji’s appointment elapsed on June 1, 2024. He was replaced by Promise Efoghe.
He started sports journalism as a freelancer with NTA Ile-Ife, Osun State between 2003 and 2006 while studying at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife.
On graduation with Bachelor of Arts degree in English, he joined Radio Brila FM in 2008.
