Ayoola Oyewale, wife of social media influencer Surajudeen Oyewale better known as Sir Jarus, has debunked allegations of domestic violence against her husband.

Mrs Oyewale, according to an update on the case given on Friday by the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (LDSVA), asked Ogba Magistrate Court to discharge her husband.

Sir Jarus was charged to court with two counts of “assault against his wife” and “conduct likely to cause breach of peace” after admitting on social media that he had a “physical altercation” with her.

In the deleted post on X (formerly Twitter), he accused his wife of engaging in “fetish practices” and “provocative behaviour”.

The LDSVA said the case was unique as it stemmed not from external allegations but from the influencer’s own admission on social media.

The agency quoted Magistrate Owolabi as saying, “I shall strike out these charges on the following conditions: The defendant shall put down his X (Twitter) blog for one month.

“The defendant shall attend counseling sessions at the Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, and the agency will provide a report to the court.”

The matter was adjourned to September 30, 2024, for compliance with the agency’s report.
