Managing director/chief executive officer (MD/CEO) of Guaranty Trust Holding Co (GTCO) Segun Agbaje on Thursday held a memorable 60th birthday party in Italy.
Afrobeat superstar Davido was at the party, thrilling guests with some of his hit songs like ‘Feel it’ and ‘Assurance’.
Several of Mr Agbaje’s relatives and friends were at the party to celebrate with him.
Agbaje has always handled his profession with conservatism, however he let his guards down on Thursday dressed in a white shirt and a grey pair of trousers as he danced to Davido’s songs.
Known for his high-energy performances and magnetic stage presence, Davido brought a wave of youthful exuberance to the celebration.
The synergy between Davido’s vibrant tunes and Agbaje’s jubilant spirit brought harmony to the celebration.
Agbaje started his career working for Ernst & Young, San Francisco, USA and left in 1991 to join Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank). He rose through the ranks to become an executive director in January 2000, and deputy managing director in August 2002.
He was appointed acting managing director in April 2011 when Tayo Aderinokun, then in the terminal stages of a diagnosis of lung cancer proceeded on medical leave. Upon Aderinokun’s death in June 2011, Agbaje was named substantial MD/CEO of the bank.
He has been the CEO of GTCO Plc since 2021.
