Wife of the governor of Lagos Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State commissioner for tourism, arts and culture Toke Benson, and fashion designer/CEO of Delabique Fashion House Deola Kamson have visited the Saraki family to mourn with them over the death of their matriarch, Florence Saraki.
Mrs Saraki died on June 18 at age 89.
On Friday, wife of former Senate President Toyin Saraki shared photos of the visit of Mrs Sanwo-Olu, Benson, and Kamson on Instagram, thanking them for their support.
“In the empathy and strength of sisterhood, I deeply appreciate the kind condolence visit and solidarity of my dear sister, Her Excellency Dr Mrs Ibijoke Sanwoolu, MBBS, First Lady of Lagos State,” she wrote.
“I also appreciate the earlier sisterly visits of Honourable Commissioner for Tourism, Toke Benson @bensontoke, Permanent Secretary for Women Affairs, Joke Oshodi, and my dear friend Deola Kamson.”
Mrs Saraki gave further thanks to the Lagos first lady and the people of the state.
“May Almighty God bless H.E. Dr @IbijokeSanwoolu, and the good people of Lagos State as we honour the loving memories of Beloved Mama, Chief Mrs Florence Morenike Saraki,” she said.
In announcing his mum’s death, former Senate President Bukola Saraki had said in a statement, “With profound sadness and total submission to the will of Almighty God, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and matriarch, Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki, who peacefully transitioned today, Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
“Details regarding funeral arrangements will be shared in due course. We appreciate your love, prayers, and support as we mourn Mama’s passing.”
