Nigeria Air Force cadet officer Emmanuel Onyeomereneche, who died in a hotel swimming pool, has been buried at Okwuta Ibeku community in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State.
His remains were laid to rest on Saturday, July 6.
Onyeomereneche, who recently graduated from the National Defence Academy, visited a hotel in Abia with friends on April 9 and began swimming at the pool.
The 20-year-old drowned at 6:37 pm in the pool and was recovered nearly three hours later.
Speaking on the incident, Abia police spokesperson Maureen Chinaka said last Friday that “the attention of CPS was called to it, and investigation is ongoing.”
It was also gathered that the 14 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Ohafia, and the navy formation in the state are also aware of the incident.
