Senior pastor of Daystar Christian Centre Sam Adeyemi has announced the death of his father Elder Stephen Adeyemi.
The clergyman said in an obituary he signed on his family’s behalf and uploaded on social media on Wednesday that his father died on July 19, 2024 in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
The obituary read, “With gratitude to God for a life well spent in the service of God and humanity, we announce the passing of our husband and father, Elder Stephen Babatunde Adeyemi, who went home to be with the Lord on Friday, 19th July, 2024 at Ilorin, Nigeria.
“He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers and sisters.”
Adeyemi noted that burial arrangements will be announced shortly.
He quoted Philippians 1:21 NIV “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain” as caption for his post and thanked the public for their prayers.
On June 30, Adeyemi penned a note on social media in celebration of his father on his 88th birthday.
The cleric thanked him for being kind, caring and self-sacrificing.
On behalf of the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, the 57-year-old wished his father joy, peace, health, and fulfillment.
“Happy 88th birthday, Daddy, Elder Stephen Babatunde Adeyemi. Thank you for being a kind, caring and self-sacrificing father to us and to many others. We pray for you to have great joy, peace, health, and fulfillment in this season of your life in Jesus’ name,” he wrote.
