Actress Nkechi Blessing has addressed President Bola Tinubu concerning the planned national protest.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, the actress called on the Federal Government to listen to the people and address the growing frustration of citizens as the economy becomes increasingly unbearable.
In her video, she stated, “This message is for his excellency, the president of the federal republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“All protocol duly observed. Sir, I understand you don’t want a protest in Nigeria, but as our President, you need to come on national TV and address us, explaining the measures you are taking to restore food prices to normal.”
She emphasised the widespread hunger and the urgent need for the president to communicate his plans to alleviate the economic hardship.
“There is hunger in the land, and as a president to his citizens, we need to hear from you so that everyone can calm down. The sole reason for this protest is for people to voice their complaints and find solutions,” she said.
Nkechi further stressed that the president is seen as a father figure, and the citizens want to hear from him directly.
Her post comes amid growing tension over the proposed nationwide protests.
