Juju and highlife singer Ebenezer Obey has paid tribute to the late songwriter, singer, and actress Onyeka Onwenu.
During his performance at the University of Ibadan on Wednesday, Ebenezer made a tribute in honour of the deceased.
Describing Onyeka as a legend and an elegant personality, the musician noted her significant impact on the growth of the music industry, copyright protection, and national development through her talent. He stressed that she would be greatly missed.
“All humans will take a bow one day to meet with our creator. Onyeka Onwenu, as a soldier on duty, you finished well. Good night,” he said.
Ebenezer, who was thrilling guests at the anniversary gala and homecoming event of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, became emotional towards the end of his performance, changing the tune of his music into a tribute for Onyeka.
