Miss Universe Nigeria Mitchel Ihezue is gearing up to relinquish her crown.
She made the announcement on her Instagram page earlier this week.
According to her, she will be handing over her crown to another queen on August 31, 2024.
The beauty queen said that the memories and pride of representing Nigeria as Miss Universe 2023 will remain with her forever.
She wrote, “On August 31st, I’ll be passing my crown, but the memories and pride of representing my country as Miss Universe 2023 will stay with me forever.”
In her farewell note, she appreciated all the people who made her reign a memorable one.
The beauty queen added that she was thankful for the opportunities her reign brought her way, noting that she was given the privilege twice.
“Grateful to have experienced this incredible journey twice! Super thankful for the opportunities it’s brought my way. Counting down my final days as Miss Universe 2023. Thank you for the love and support!” she added.
Mitchel triumphed over 36 other talented contestants to secure the coveted Miss Universe Nigeria crown at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos on Sunday, September 10, 2023.
She represented Nigeria at the 72nd edition of the Miss Universe pageant held in El Salvador on November 18, 2023.
