Billionaire Femi Otedola has donated N5 million to the family of Sodiq Olayode who recently welcomed quadruplets.
The donation came through Femi Otedola Foundation after members of the public had raised over N19 million for the family through online donations.
The cheque of N5 million was presented by Philip Akinola on behalf of the foundation.
Otedola also offered scholarships for the education of two of the children to university level.
The Olayode family were initially expecting a single child. However, they were surprised by the arrival of quadruplets – two boys and two girls.
The public got wind of the family’s situation when a colleague Oyeniran James took it to social media.
Tweeting as jamysax, James revealed how Olayode lamented that the quadruplets used 105 diapers in six days.
This sparked a wave of generosity, with Nigerians donating millions to support the family.
Sharing the news on X.com on Monday night, James wrote, “Guyssssssssssssssssss, Guess what ????
“#realFemiOtedola sent representatives to offer a ceque of N5m to the parents of the quadruplets and also he offered scholarship for the education of twpof their kids till university. I’m in tears, guys.”
Airtel Nigeria earlier donated N2m to the family.
