Ivy Ifeoma, wife to singer Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, has issued a stern warning to online trolls who post hate comments for “fun” or recognition.
Taking to her Instagram Story on Monday, Ifeoma expressed her dismay, stating that it is embarrassing to engage in such behaviour.
She emphasised that while she’s not personally affected by the negativity, it is disturbing to see people justify their actions by claiming it is “just cruise” or “not that serious.”
“I’ve encountered countless trolls, and honestly, nothing bothers me. So this isn’t about me.
“But for some of these individuals, the moment they get a bit of attention, they switch the narrative to ‘It’s just cruise’ or ‘I just wanted your attention,'” she wrote.
Ifeoma continued by urging trolls to reconsider their actions, pointing out how unwise it looks to spread hate for fun, recognition, or money.
“Lol, not everyone has Chike’s heart o. They’re out to play now because of 1m. 1kobo, you no go see. Just save the embarrassment, please. 100% of the time, you really do look stupid here.”
Her warning comes after singer Chike trended last week on X (formerly Twitter) for giving a troll N1 million.
The troll had implied that the late singer Mohbad was behind Chike’s success.
In a surprising turn of events, Chike after criticising the troll’s upbringing and attributing his actions to hunger, asked for his bank details and proceeded to send him the money.
