Entertainment journalist Kelvin Okoroji joins HUG Media Concept as senior creative executive

Entertainment journalist and filmmaker Kelvin Okoroji has joined film company, HUG Media Concept, as a senior creative executive.

The announcement was made in a recent statement by HUG CEO, Godwin Harrison, in which he described Kelvin’s inclusion as a “major milestone in our quest to create bold films in African cinema.”

Media personality Nnamdi Daniel was also appointed as an executive member.

Speaking on his new role, Kelvin expressed his enthusiasm about joining HUG Media Concept, highlighting his excitement and passion to contribute to the Nigerian entertainment industry.

He stated, “I am thrilled to join HUG Media as the Senior Creative Executive. HUG’s dedication to creating opportunities focused on creatives and content is impressive.

“It aligns perfectly with my passion for advancing Nollywood and nurturing talent in Nigeria. I’m eager to work with this talented team and contribute to building Africa’s leading studio where talent can thrive and share original stories with the world.”

Also known as Kelvin Childs Okoroji, the film critic contributed to the weekly recap of Hollywood filmmaker Tyler Perry’s TV show ‘The Oval’ which airs on Black Entertainment Television (BET) and hosted his own talk show, ‘Changing The Narrative,’ which aired for three years.

In 2021, he joined Mighty Media Plus Network (QEDNG) as an entertainment journalist, eventually leading the entertainment desk.

Currently, he serves as the marketing and communications manager at Taeps Animation Studios, recognised for their AFRIFF-nominated short film ‘Èwà’ and the upcoming 3D feature film ‘Adétóún & the Heart of Time.’

Kelvin has interviewed a range of celebrities from Hollywood and Nollywood, including Jimmy Jean-Louis, Taja V. Simpson, Javon Johnson, Joke Silva, Stella Damasus, and Kunle Afolayan.


He is the co-producer and script editor of ‘Ima’mi’, an upcoming romantic thriller, written and directed by Godwin Harrison.
