Family and fans of late singer Aduke Ajayi, fondly known as Aduke Gold have held a candlelight procession in her honor.

The event took place late Wednesday in Ogba, Lagos State.

Aduke Gold’s passing last week sparked grief in the gospel music world, and some controversy regarding the cause of her death.

However her brother, Pastor Aderogbo Ajayi clarified in an interview with Gbeborun9ja that she succumbed to cervical cancer.

Pastor Aderogbo also shared details about her funeral arrangements.

“We held a family meeting and decided that the burial would take place on the 23rd of August, with several outlined programs. On the 21st, there will be a candlelight vigil,” he said.

Born in 1990 in Ilesha, Osun State, Aduke Gold was known as “Aduke Penkele” early in her music career due to her slender physique.

She earned a degree in history and international relations from Lagos State University and furthered her education with a higher degree in child psychology and a diploma in Montessori education, among other qualifications.
