Actress Toyin Abraham has assured her fans that she is doing well, following a wave of concern and backlash after she made an appeal on social media asking for God’s intervention.
The actress took to her Instagram Story on Wedneday, sharing a message that read, “Lord I need you now more than ever, this is way beyond my imagination.”
In a subsequent post, she shared a video with the caption “Lord take control,” while also promoting her upcoming film Alakada: Bad and Boujee.
Toyin could be heard saying, “I need God now. The job is… You will love Alakada. It’s beyond me now. When you’re doing something and it’s bigger than what you think, God please take control.”
The posts quickly circulated online, drawing mixed reactions.
Some critics accused her of seeking cheap publicity for her soon-to-be-released movie, while others claimed she deserved whatever challenges she was facing due to her public support of President Tinubu.
However, some fans expressed genuine concern for her well-being.
In response to the growing speculation, Toyin Abraham later clarified that she is perfectly fine but was simply overwhelmed by the massive crowd on her movie set.
She wrote, “I’m very okay, Fam. I’m just overwhelmed and truthfully need strength from GOD. Thank you all for your love and calls. IYA YIN wa alright o, Mo cook Alakada: Bad and Boujee for December. Love you all and thanks once again.”
In the video shared to dispel rumors, she showed the crowd on set, saying, “Hello fam, there’s nothing wrong with me. See, I have a lot of crowd here. The crowd was so massive, it was just overwhelming. Thank you guys for your love.”
Addressing an unidentified person, she added, “Everybody is scared because I posted that the Lord is my strength. I’m okay, fam. See, too many people!”
Alakada: Bad and Boujee, set for release in December, will be the fifth installment in the popular Alakada film series, following the 2009 original, Alakada 2 in 2013, Alakada Reloaded in 2017, and Fate of Alakada: The Party Planner in 2020.
