Actress Biola Bayo has opened up about her decision to embrace her natural appearance, choosing not to succumb to the societal pressure of undergoing Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery.
In an interview with Seun Oloketuyi on ‘Nollywood On Radio’, Biola shared her thoughts on the growing BBL trend, drawing a parallel to the once-popular tattoo craze.
She explained that trends come and go, noting how tattoos were once widely sought after but no longer carry the same enthusiasm.
“I’m comfortable in my own skin,” Biola confidently stated.
“I don’t have a big bum or big breasts, and I’m fine with that. If anyone has a problem with my body, that’s their issue, not mine.”
She further expressed that while she doesn’t rule out future possibilities, altering her body is not something she’s currently considering.
“I don’t ever say never, but I’m not wired like that. The BBL trend will come and go. I’m not thinking of it because I don’t feel the need.”
Reflecting on past trends, Biola recalled the tattoo era, when many of her colleagues opted for body art.
“There was a time when tattoos were the trend, and lots of my friends got them. I didn’t, but that didn’t stop me from being myself or succeeding.”
Her statement comes amid growing awareness of the dangers associated with cosmetic procedures, including the tragic death of a 36-year-old woman in Lagos.
The woman, identified as Abiola, reportedly died following a failed buttocks enlargement surgery in the Lekki area of Lagos.
According to report, the nurse and doctor involved in the procedure has been arrested.
