Actor Yomi Fabiyi has led a peaceful protest at the Chief Magistrate Court in Ikorodu, Lagos, demanding justice for late singer, Mohbad.

Protesters, dressed in black T-shirts, gathered outside the court on Wednesday, responding to Yomi’s earlier call for public participation in seeking justice for the deceased artiste.

The coroner’s inquest into Mohbad’s death resumed at the Ikorodu Magistrate Court, with the late singer’s parents, Joseph and Abosede Aloba, arriving separately for the proceedings.

Recall that the inquest, which began on September 29, 2023, aims to uncover the true cause of Mohbad’s death, following his sudden and mysterious passing on September 12, 2023.

He was buried the following day, but on September 21, his body was exhumed for an autopsy at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

The autopsy report found no significant evidence to explain Mohbad’s death, though it detected traces of Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, but not in fatal concentrations.

Unsatisfied with the findings, Mohbad’s family rejected the results and called for an independent investigation.

Monisola Odumosu, a member of the Aloba legal team, revealed that a two-part autopsy is currently in progress. The first phase has been completed, with toxicology and histology tests forming the second phase.

Singer Naira Marley and Sam Larry, both considered key witnesses, were absent from the court despite being summoned.
