However, after getting to know him, she developed a deep admiration for him, which she now cherishes.
The actress also revealed some unique facts about Chief Igbinedion, such as his preference for freshly prepared meals, his avoidance of hotels, and his custom of dining with no fewer than 20 people.
She wrote, “Ah! And this is the BIG one! Please, everyone, join me in wishing the great and only Sir Chief Dr. Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin Kingdom, a very happy 90th birthday!
“To know the Esama is to love him. He is very royal, yet kind, playful, childlike, and understanding. Before I met him many years ago, I had heard about how feared he was.
“He actually looks scary! 😅… but getting to know the Esama, whom I now call ‘Papa,’ and who calls me ‘Omoshexsy Omotekun’ (I still don’t know why) has been one of the true blessings of my life.
“Love you, Papa! I can’t wait to see you by His grace. I pray that God continues to bless you with good health, long life, a healthy and happy family around you, and lasting joy.
“Thank you for always holding me in high regard, going all out to celebrate me at every opportunity, and for being such a joyous soul.”
Omotola also shared some fun facts about the chief’s lifestyle.
“Fun facts about the Esama:
He doesn’t stay in hotels – he has castles in every country he visits!
He only eats freshly made meals.
He dines with no fewer than 20 people, buffet style, virtually every day!
What a living legend!” She wrote.
