Businessman Aminu Dantata has donated the sum of N1.5 billion to victims of flood in Maiduguri, Borno State capital.

The elder statesman announced his donation on Tuesday when he led a delegation from Kano to Government House in Maiduguri.

He condoled with Governor Babagana Zulum, the government and people of the state especially those who lost loved ones to the flood.

Dantata lamented the level of deterioration of the economy in the country and urged the elite and political leaders to repent and fear God.

Responding, Zulum expressed appreciation to the Elder Stateman for his compassionate visit, acknowledging that it has served as a beacon of hope and solidarity during moments of grief.

“The people of Borno deeply appreciate this show of magnanimity by a 96-year-old to visit us. Let me announce it, Our Baba has donated the sum of N1.5 billion to support the flood victims,” Zulum said.

Dantata’s nephew Aliko Dangote earlier donated N1 billion to the flood victims.
