Lagos State Government is celebrating Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat and has presented him a cake to mark his 60th birthday.
Hamzat was joined by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, 59, and state executive council members to cut his cake.
Mr Sanwo-Olu’s chief of staff Tayo Ayinde was also present for the celebration.
Sharing photos of the memorable moment on Thursday on social media, Sanwo-Olu said: “Happy 60th birthday to my brother and friend @drobafemihamzat.
“Your commitment to public service and the development of Lagos State continues to inspire many. I am proud to walk this journey of governance and leadership alongside you.
“As Deputy Governor, your dedication and excellence have been pivotal in our mission to build a Greater Lagos. Here’s to many more years of service, wisdom, and success. May you continue to flourish in all your endeavours. Happy Birthday, Femi!”
The celebrant said in a post on social media that he was grateful to see this day.
“Al-ḥamdu l-illāhi rabbi l-ʿālamīn. For the grace and favour bestowed upon me by Almighty Allah (swt) to witness another September 19th.
“As I celebrate a milestone, I cannot but give all the praises and thanks to Almighty Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
“I am thankful for the grace to be alive to witness my 60th birthday in good health and sound mind.
“I’m also thankful to my dear wife, Oluremi, our children, family, friends, and indeed the good people of Lagos, and Nigeria for their love, well wishes, and support in the past years and always.
“My sincere prayer is that Almighty Allah (swt) continues to grant me His mercy, grace and blessings as I navigate through life. Ameen,” he wrote.
