Filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has reached the final stage of production for the second season of his Netflix series, Anikulapo.
Kunle took to Instagram on Thursday to share pictures from the set, announcing the completion of the shoot in Ghana.
He also acknowledged the support from the National Film Authority of Ghana in making the production possible.
The last phase of filming is currently taking place in Cape Coast, Ghana, marking the final chapter of the project which is being produced under his company, KAP Motion Pictures.
On Sunday, QEDNG reported that Kunle and his team had arrived in Accra, Ghana, to shoot key scenes for the second season.
Renowned filmmaker Tunde Kelani, who is part of the production team, confirmed their arrival on social media.
“Arriving at Accra’s Kotoka International Airport this morning with the Anikulapo team,” Kelani, the director of Saworoide shared in a post on Instagram and Facebook.
Before heading to Ghana, Kunle completed filming the Nigerian segments for Anikulapo Season 2 at the KAP Film Village in Igbojaye on September 11.
Returning cast members from Season 1 include Sola Sobowale, Taiwo Hassan (Ogogo), Aisha Lawal, Bimbo Ademoye, Moji Afolayan, Eyiyemi Afolayan, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Owobo Ogunde, Lateef Adedimeji, and Oyindamola Sanni.
Joining the series for the first time are notable actors such as Saidi Balogun, Saga Adeolu, and Antar Laniyan.
The second season will also feature Ghanaian actors, highlighting a partnership between Kunle Afolayan Productions and the National Film Authority, as part of the “Shoot in Ghana” initiative aimed at promoting the country’s film industry.
