Actor Lateef Adedimeji has extended an apology to his colleagues, acknowledging that he may have unintentionally wronged some of them during the making of his soon-to-be-released movie, Lisabi.
The much-anticipated film, produced by Lateef and his wife, Mo Bimpe—one of Nollywood’s beloved couples—was officially launched at a star-studded event.
Lisabi movie premiere was held on the evening of Wednesday at Filmhouse Cinema, Lekki.
The event attracted a constellation of Nollywood legends, including Odunlade Adekola, Femi Adebayo, Toyin Abraham, Itele, and Ibrahim Chatta.
Lateef Adedimeji took the stage in front of a packed room of colleagues, friends, and fans.
Expressing his deep gratitude for their unwavering support, Lateef’s words took an emotional turn as he humbly bowed his head and apologised to anyone he may have hurt during the production of Lisabi.
He acknowledged that the pursuit of perfection can sometimes lead to misunderstandings and assured his audience that any challenges faced during the film’s production were well worth it.
With a sense of pride, he described Lisabi as a “perfect creation.”
His sincere apology and heartfelt words were met with cheers and applause.
Lisabi: The Uprising will be available on Netflix starting Friday.
This film is the first installment in an epic saga, with the sequel, Lisabi: A Legend is Born, scheduled for release in January 2025.
Lisabi is executive-produced by Lateef Adedimeji and directed by Niyi Akinmolayan.
The film is a collaboration between Al Notions Studios and Anthill Studios, with the story written by Niyi Akinmolayan and Yinka Olaoye.
Cast for the film includes Femi Adebayo, Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Itele Yekini, Ibrahim Chatta, Mo Bimpe, Eniola Ajao, Liquorose Afije, and Lateef Adedimeji himself.
