Founder of Stanbic IBTC Plc Atedo Peterside has shared a throwback photo of the new chairman of Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc Olusola David-Borha when she was a manager.
Mr Peterside’s post followed the announcement of Mrs David-Borha as chairman of the holding company on Thursday.
In a statement, the company’s secretary Chidi Okezie said her appointment follows all regulatory approvals after the retirement of Basil Omiyi as chairman in May 2024.
Celebrating her on X, Peterside shared the iconic photo taken 35 years ago when he was the company’s pioneer CEO.
“35 years ago, @SolaDavidBorha was a Manager standing over my shoulders when I was the Poineer CEO of @StanbicIBTC. Today she was confirmed as the Chairman of Stanbic IBTC HoldHoldings Plc. We give God the glory,” he wrote.
In June, Peterside retired as a non-executive director of the lender.
Meanwhile, David-Borha earlier served as chief executive officer of Standard Bank, Africa Regions. Prior to that, she was chief executive officer of Stanbic IBTC Holdings and Stanbic IBTC Bank.
She is an honorary senior member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and winner of the 2016 CNBC African Woman of the Year Award.
