Phyno features jailed Hushpuppi on new album after 2017 feud

Rapper Nelson Azubuike, popularly known as Phyno has surprised fans by featuring jailed internet celebrity Hushpuppi on his soon-to-be-released album, Full Time Job, despite their public fallout in 2017.

Phyno dropped the tracklist for his album on Instagram on Tuesday, coinciding with Nigeria’s Independence Day celebrations.

The album boasts an impressive lineup of collaborations with Cheque, Flavour, Burna Boy and Johnny Drille.

However, what caught the attention of many was the inclusion of track number five, titled ‘Nwoke Esike’ which features an interlude by the infamous Hushpuppi who is currently serving a jail sentence in the US for his involvement in a massive international fraud scheme.

The collaboration has sparked widespread reactions on social media.

Recall that in 2017, Phyno and Hushpuppi engaged in a heated online feud.

Hushpuppi accused Phyno and fellow rapper Ice Prince of wearing fake Patek Philippe wristwatches, igniting a social media firestorm.

The exchange escalated, with various Nigerian celebrities, including Kcee, weighing in on the controversy.

Phyno however did not let the incident slide.

He threw a major jab at Hushpuppi later that year in Timaya’s hit song ‘Telli Person’, where Phyno and Olamide were featured.

The song was widely interpreted as a response to the social media drama, with many fans seeing Phyno’s verse as a direct diss towards the self-proclaimed Gucci Master.

Now, in a surprising update Phyno’s decision to include Hushpuppi on his new album has led some netizens to speculate that the two may have reconciled after their spat.
