Actress Atinuke Kazeem, popularly known as Mama No Network has shared the difficult experiences she faced in her marriage to fellow actor Baba Lanko.
Speaking in an interview with Biola Bayo on ‘Talk to B’, Mama No Network detailed the challenges they encountered both professionally and personally.
According to her, while they initially struggled to succeed in the movie industry, things changed when success and recognition finally came.
Instead of enjoying the rewards together, she revealed that Baba Lanko expressed his desire to take a new wife.
After the eventual dissolution of their marriage, Atinuke claimed that Baba Lanko went further by instructing film producers not to cast her in any movies he was involved in.
She also opened up about her painful battle with infertility. She recalled a particularly harrowing moment when she was given kerosene to drink in a desperate attempt to conceive.
“My ex-husband, Lanko, and I worked hard to produce many films. But when money and fame came, he told me he wanted to marry a new wife.
“After we parted ways, he told producers not to feature me in the same projects as him. Today, however, he now uses his own money to call me for movie roles, and for that, I give glory to God.
“I wasn’t the one who left the marriage; he simply stopped coming home. During our time together, I faced immense difficulties while trying to have a child. I went through hell.
“At one point, I was given kerosene to drink. All those desperate measures affected me, leading to my bloated stomach. When I finally gave up hope, God answered my prayers, and the pregnancy came naturally.”
In May 2023, Mama No Network found love again and remarried, tying the knot with her younger partner after separating from Baba Lanko.
