Munir Balogun, father of musician Wizkid has spoken out regarding the ongoing rivalry between his son and fellow artiste Davido.
In an exclusive interview with Punch Newspapers, Balogun shared that he has adviced Wizkid to steer clear of provocations from Davido’s fanbase and to remain focused on his career.
He emphasised the importance of avoiding unnecessary distractions fueled by fan-driven controversies.
“I told my son not to concern himself with what Davido’s supporters are saying. These fans are often just looking for attention or a way to make money,” he remarked.
He further explained that many fans stir up drama for their own benefit and urged Wizkid to rise above the noise.
“They’re only seeking opportunities for themselves. I advised him to not be distracted by it,” he added.
Balogun also acknowledged that he has observed the rivalry between the two artistes online, noting that fan discussions often intensify the tension.
For years, the rivalry between Wizkid and Davido has been a hot topic among their supporters, with both musicians recognised as leading figures in the Nigerian music industry.
