Afrobeats star Burna Boy has reacted to reports on the disappearance of controversial singer Speed Darlington.

Early Tuesday morning, Burna Boy took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to share two posts which appeared to respond to allegations linking him to Darlington’s sudden disappearance.”

The first read, “7 is Real” followed by another post asking “Who’s missing?”

Mother of Speed Darlington known simply as Queen has accused Burna Boy and his team of being responsible for her son’s disappearance.

In a video shared online, she went on her knees to plead with Burna Boy to “tamper justice with mercy” and release her only son from detention.

Queen also called on well-meaning Nigerians to support her son, expressing her concerns as she does not live in Nigeria and fears her son may continue to suffer in detention.

“Nigerians, please come and help me. My son Speed Darlington has been missing for over four days now, after he made a video about Burna Boy and Diddy.

“Burna Boy came to his house with his 7 Squad and the police and arrested Akpi. Please, Nigerians, help me and beg Burna Boy to release my son,” she implored.

Her plea follows the circulation of a video showing Speed Darlington in handcuffs, which has raised alarm among his supporters.

In a recent update VeryDarkMan’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju announced that Speed Darlington has been located.

Adeyanju called for an end to the suppression of free speech in Nigeria.

“We are now involved in the Speed Darlington matter. We will do everything to get him freed.

“Nobody should be arrested by the police for expressing their views or opinions. We urge the authorities to stop the clampdown on freedom of speech in Nigeria,” he stated.
