Actress Regina Askia has raised concerns that the real issue surrounding the recent controversy involving crossdresser Bobrisky and social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM) is being overshadowed by other distractions.

In a social media post on Tuesday, Regina stated that while renowned lawyer Femi Falana has every right to pursue a defamation case against VeryDarkMan or resolve the matter in any way he sees fit, the core issues that triggered the defamatory statements appear to have been neglected.

Earlier this week, an Ikeja High Court ruled that VeryDarkMan must delete his defamatory posts about the Falana family and that the family should serve him the defamation suit through his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju.

The actress in response to the ruling had shared her stance, stating that the judgment was “cruel and unusual”

Regina’s comment led to a backlash from individuals who disagreed with her viewpoint, accusing her of promoting a negative narrative in the case.

In response to the criticism, Regina defended her stance, arguing that VeryDarkMan is being made a scapegoat while the key issues, including the revelations from the audiotape he shared seem to be swept under the rug.

She also questioned why no one is pursuing the person who made the claims in the audiotape, suggesting that the focus of the controversy has shifted away from the real problem.

Regina expressed, “VDM is ordered to pay N500 million. But what happens to the person who collected N15 million?

“What about the one who recorded the video? What about the one who told the story, and, most importantly, who is this supposed ‘Godfather’ involved?”
