Actor Amokade Olatayo, popularly known as Ijebu, has joined in mourning Adedoyin Odunuga wife of gospel singer Dare Melody.
Dare announced the death of his wife Adedoyin in a post on his Instagram page on Thursday.
He wrote, “It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the transition to eternal rest of our beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend (Mrs. Adedoyin Odunuga, nee Odagi), who passed away early this morning today 24th of October 2024. RIP. You will forever be in our hearts.”
After his announcement, tributes and condolences poured in from celebrities and fans alike.
Ijebu put up emojis depicting tears and added, “My condolences.”
Actor Damola Olatunji consoled the musician with the words, “Please accept my condolences… It is well.”
Gospel singer Bukola Oreofe expressed shock at the development. “Jesus! May her soul rest in peace,” she wrote.
Actress Tawa Ajisefini wrote, “Omg, my condolences.”
Comedian Woli Agba also expressed shock with the words: “Ahhh! My condolences.”
At the time of this report, the cause of Adedoyin’s death remained undisclosed.
Dare Melody and Adedoyin got married in 2017 at Ikoyi Registry in Lagos after being together for 16 years.
Their traditional wedding ceremony was attended by many of Dare’s contemporaries in gospel music.
In 2023, the gospel artiste gave his wife a house in celebration of her 45th birthday.
Together, they have three children.
