Oniru of Iru Kingdom in Lagos Oba Omogbolahan Lawal and his wife Olori Mariam Lawal are celebrating the 24th anniversary of their marriage.
The monarch said in an Instagram post on Monday that he has enjoyed love since getting married to her 24 years ago.
Oba Lawal said he was looking forward to the next 24 years.
“As the Holy Book says, ‘Love is kind, Love is Patient, Love is not self-serving…’ I have enjoyed this and so much more in the last 24 years with you. I look forward to the next 24 and the 24 still after that and beyond. Happy Anniversary Maiseme @olorimariamlawal,” he wrote.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State presented the staff of office and instrument of appointment to Oba Lawal on June 7, 2020, making him the 15th Oniru of Iru land.
Oba Lawal is a former commissioner for agriculture in Lagos and was one of the longest-serving members of the state cabinet.
