Filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has shared the official trailer for his much-anticipated psychological drama Recall.
Kunle took to Instagram on Tuesday to unveil the trailer, encouraging fans to prepare for an immersive experience.
He wrote, “Get ready to experience RECALL – a supernatural drama that dives into love, memory, and the mysteries that bind us,” while highlighting the film’s unique blend of Nigerian and international talent.
Recall, directed by Kunle, tells the story of Goke and Anita, a couple who appear to be in a blissful relationship until unforeseen events lead them down a darker path.
Set in the city of Lagos, the film explores themes of memory, love and the psychological challenges that relationships can bring.
The cast of Recall features notable actors, including Sharon Ooja, Haitian actor Jimmy Jean-Louis, Patience Ozokwor, Bimbo Akintola, Mama Rainbow, Ekpenyong Inyang, Shan George and a special appearance by Tosin Martins.
The film is scheduled to premiere on November 7, 2024, at the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF).
In October 2023, Kunle announced his collaboration with Jimmy Jean-Louis, whom he had previously worked with on The CEO and Citation, Temi Otedola’s debut film.
Although he initially kept details of Recall under wraps, he hinted that the project was “something extraordinary,” with fans eagerly anticipating the release.
Kunle also recently wrapped up filming for the new season of Anikulapo in Cape Coast, Ghana, following a successful shoot in Nigeria’s KAP Film Village located in Igbojaye, Oyo State.
